Five Reframes to Unlock POWER.

Every woman I've ever met, around some area of their life, asks the question:
"What's wrong with me?"
Our culture thrives on women feeling LESS THAN. It's the underpinning of multi billion dollar marketing campaigns and the horrifying not-so-silent message being sent by politics, religion and the healthcare conglomerate.
We're taught from the softest, tiniest ages to internalize and function on the belief that SOMETHING must be wrong with us that we don't have our shit together every second of the day.
But what if there's NOTHING WRONG WITH US?!
What if the areas where we struggle are simply the keys with which we can unlock greater POWER?
I hear five things over and over in my practice, and the TLDR; is :
YOU are SO POWERFUL that your to-do list is diminishing your light, so:
Eat and rest in small doses, often.
Start with pleasure and passion.
Learn skills > scramble for motivation.
Let's go:
1. "I just need more discipline." In high powered women, this so often an indicator of decision fatigue. Discipline and motivation are neurologically in limited supply!! We choose the thing that feels least taxing because we're TIRED and because we spend so much of our day making high level decisions for others who depend on us.
The Reframe: It's time to fuel myself and take small breaks to create energy for high powered decisions.
2. "I just need to be more focused." When we're operating on stress hormones or existing out of alignment with our true selves, we can end up running around looking for anything that feels productive to give us a hit of purpose and energy. We often don't need more focus, we need PASSION.
The Reframe: I get to choose tasks that give me a full body YES!
3. "I know it's important, but I'm not motivated to..." As high achievers, we like to dream big, set our three and five year goals and think ahead to what's coming next. But long term wins don't motivate immediate action when there are so many small fires to put out on a daily basis!
The Reframe: "It changes my life RIGHT NOW to do this because...."
(My favorite example of this is a client who was strength training because she wanted to maintain bone density. Problem was: she wasn't strength training. But when we dialed down to the fact that strength training solved her afternoon fatigue issues? BOOM. Short daily training sessions happened like magic.)
4. "If I don't do it first thing, I won't do it." What if you started your day with something that LIT. YOU. UP. Gave you PLEASURE. There's a magic to opening our days with this kind of energy, and the hard things (hard workouts. big tasks. challenging conversations.) just flow when we're in that space.
The Reframe: First thing, I start with passion, pleasure and purpose.
5. "I know I should just..." This is - hands down - a blaring red light in my coaching practice that there's a skillset missing. Rather than just forcing yourself to tackle the CONCEPT, look at : where am I missing mastery that would make this easier? (I mean... if you don't know how to cook, "prep cook weekly" is a totally shit suggestion!)
The Reframe: I can learn something that would make this easier.

you are POWERFUL beyond your wildest understanding.
And powerful beings need a channel for their power, a fuel source and a passionate drive.
