Three Tips for Highly Sensitive, Highly Motivated Women.
Feb 17, 2026
I got my ass kicked this past week because my teenager took a personality test.
I'll say more.
For my birthday, my amazing teenager got me theater tickets. While we were waiting in the lobby and eating snacks to pregame, he showed me that he'd recently taken a version of the 16 Personalities Test, then promptly blew some online IQ tests out of the water. To AVOID taking an IQ test, I opted to take the 16 Personalities quiz for the first time in years.
No shock here: I'm an INFP-T (Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Perceiving) Which means - I feel really big because I see and notice really big.
But I mentally laid that against my Human Design Type - Manifesting Generator - and
< record screech >
Manifesting Generators are fast moving, multifaceted, and highly responsive. (me. Me. ME.) So, basically,
I see everything.
Feel everything.
And am compelled to respond quickly to ev.er.y.thing.
And this can quickly results in huge ideas turning into unending task lists and fast track to overwhelm and burn out if I'm not mindful to stay in alignment.
This paradox is something I've struggled with for a long time.
Early in my career, I thought my big feels and big bursts of productivity were a character flaw, and often worked to shove myself into one corner (sensitivity) or the other (productivity) based on external factors. I've since learned that they're incredibly powerful in tandem, so with this different lens, I dug a little deeper.
I journaled, contemplated and - because it's currently 2026 - popped one prompt into ChatGPT to overlay these two results.
In the process, I was reminded of a few things that have kept me grounded and I think might apply to a lot of us who ride the roller coaster of feeling it all, and feeling the need to DO it all.
If you feel it all, and feel compelled to DO it all, this is for you:
--
🙌🏻 Check for the Full Body YES before committing to or starting a project or opportunity. (Or, as others have so eloquently said: If it's not a hell yes, it's a f*** no.) If "could" or "should" arise in your decision making, check again.
Operating in alignment will make all the difference.
🌀 Keep One Empty Block each week to "refill the well" (a term from The Artists Way.) Could be as involved as a massage or - my favorite - a sauna visit. Or as uninvolved as a 15 min cup of coffee in the daycare parking lot with the windows down or five minutes with a coloring book before you start your week.
Just create a moment of time to let your brain 'brain.'
🌎 Respect Seasonality. Schedule a reset or rest ahead of time when you know you're stepping into a season of exciting sprints or deep work, and embrace the energy swing. That way, when things peak, you know there's a breath on the other side and your nervous system learns to trust that the work cycle ends.
The pendulum isn't the problem. Artificially starting and stopping it is.

Just know that YOU sensitive, productive, motivated and possibly exhausted human are filled with potential and purpose and deep worthiness.
